THE YORK SCULPTURES

The York Sculptures were made by the English sculptor Sir Anthony Caro in the spring and summer of 1974 at York Steel Construction Ltd. in York, Ontario, just outside Toronto. Of the thirty-seven multi-ton pieces that Caro made at York, twenty-three were shown in this exhibition, which was organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston at the Christian Science Center Plaza. Favermann Design was involved in logistics, shipping between Canada and the US, site planning and sculpture placement. A master plan scale model was built prior to the outdoor exhibition.
